FANCY FARM, Ky. (Aug. 5, 2023) – Republican Nominee for Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell delivered the following remarks – as prepared for delivery – at the 143rd Fancy Farm Picnic, hosted by St. Jerome Church:
“Hello, Fancy Farm!
“My name is Jonathan Shell. I’m a fifth-generation farmer, a Christian and a conservative.
“I’ve farmed in Garrard County my whole life.
“If you name it, I’ve probably been in the fields with it. And let me tell you, some of it smells a lot better than others.
“We can say the same about Biden’s White House.
“‘Manure’ would be putting it politely.
“Joe Biden and Andy Beshear are out of touch with Kentucky farmers and Kentucky values.
“Their woke agenda is infecting every aspect of our culture and government.
“I’m running for Ag Commissioner to put an end to the madness: To Stop Biden and Save Kentucky.
“Andy Beshear failed to protect Kentucky. He sits on his hands as Biden Democrats threaten our way of life.
“I’m surprised Governor Beshear even showed up to a Catholic Church Picnic today!
“I guess he’ll have to ask for absolution from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
“I’m glad he could fit us into his Farewell Tour. Don’t worry, Governor.
“No one will care when you skip next year.
“They don’t usually invite former governors to speak.

“Rural Kentucky needs a fighter in Frankfort with the experience to lead and the backbone to stand up for our values.
